Under the direction of the Controller, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for payroll functions including the processing of payrolls, the filing of payroll related reports and the payment of payroll taxes.    

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, special payrolls including bonus runs, interim payrolls and year-end payroll adjustments.
• Prepare federal, state, and local tax reports related to payroll
• Administer payment of federal, state and local payroll taxes
• Submit Profit Sharing and FSA contributions to the appropriate plan administrators
• Prepare Workers’ Compensation annual report
• Prepare Profit Sharing annual report
• Process all year-end payroll tax reports and W-2’s
• Perform manual update of vacation accruals for union employees
• Researches and resolves questions from managers and employees as they relate to the processing of payroll information such as garnishments, employment verifications, 401(k) loans, and unemployment

Education & Experience Requirements:
• Associate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
• 4 years of Payroll Administration experience is preferred

• Experience with Peoplesoft HR/Payroll system and Kronos is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

• Knowledgeable of state and federal wage and hour laws
• Able to interpret federal, state  and local tax regulations
• Able to complete payroll related tax returns
• Able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with all levels of employees 
• Analytical, decisive and a problem solver
• Able to work well under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines

Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources & Administrative Services, the Human Resources Administrator performs administrative support of employment activity, salary and benefit administration, and employee training and performance management.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Provides administrative support to the employment process
• Ensures salaried job descriptions are current and job evaluations are up to date
• Assists in the preparation of annual performance reviews and salary administration
• Enters data in JD Edwards (HRIS)
• Administers group insurance plans
• Confirms  headcount, prepares and/or codes third party bills for payment
• Administers the Education Reimbursement Program
• Organizes and participates in various employee group activities

Educational and Experience Requirements:
• Associate Degree in HR or equivalent work experience
• Prefer 1 to 3 years related experience in HR
• Prior experience in a union environment is preferred

• Proficient in JD Edwards or the ability to become proficient
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point

• Maintains employee confidentiality
• Recommends improvements to the HR processes
• Ability to gather, assemble, report and analyze data
• Possesses basic knowledge of HR Metrics
• Familiarity and basic understanding of Employment and Benefit Law
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Provides excellent customer service to all members
