Regal Ware Unveils New Housing Development on Historic Kewaskum Site
Milwaukee, WI (June 17, 2024) – Regal Ware, Inc., a leading privately held, family-owned holding company with divisions and brands in the premium kitchen products industry proudly announces a significant community development initiative at its former headquarters in Kewaskum. The property, which served as the base of operations for over 75 years, is being transformed into Regal Place—a new residential community that will feature 48 homes, including owner-occupied ranch and townhome-style residences all with attached garages. The project is in partnership with American Companies, the Economic Development of Washington County (EDWC), Washington County’s Josh Schoemann, the County Executive, and Discovery Properties.
This project represents a continuation of the legacy of J.O. Reigle, a founder of Regal Ware, and underscores the company’s commitment to corporate citizenship. Known for supporting local youth activities, sponsoring veterans’ initiatives, and awarding educational scholarships, Regal Ware remains dedicated to the Kewaskum community and environmental stewardship.
Regal Place is designed to enrich the Kewaskum community by providing accessible, quality housing options for families. Pending applicable approvals, Regal Place is slated to break ground this fall, the development will offer residents a blend of modern living spaces in a setting rich with local history. Nestled among open fields and wildlife, with serene views of the nearby river, the development offers a picturesque living environment. The beautifully developed Kewaskum Middle School and High School are also in proximity providing a major advantage for families with school-age children.
Regal Ware is pleased to announce this strategic partnership with design, build and development firm, American Companies of West Bend, led by CEO Kraig Sadownikow, who shares a personal connection to Regal Ware. “My family’s journey with Regal Ware began when my father, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother immigrated from Serbia in the early 1950’s. Employment was a requirement to earn entry into the U.S. at that time. J.O. Reigle and his company not only provided them with jobs but also a community that helped nurture and develop us into who we are today. I am deeply grateful for the support and opportunities Regal Ware extended to my family, and I am honored to contribute to this project that reflects our shared values,” said Kraig Sadownikow.
Christian Tscheschlok, Executive Director of EDWC, added, “While there remains work ahead to make this project fully shovel ready, we have a powerful convergence of the right partnerships and right circumstances coming together to drive transformative and catalytic impact in Kewaskum. Without the Village of Kewaskum, Washington County, and the private sector joining forces to overcome various challenges typical to redevelopment, this project would not move forward to benefit both current and future generations of Kewaskum residents and businesses.”
Ryan Reigle, the fourth-generation leader and now Chairman of the Board and CEO of Regal Ware, states, “Regal Place is more than a housing project; it’s a commitment to the community that nurtured our company from the beginning. We are proud to enhance Kewaskum by developing this historic site into a vibrant community that honors our past while providing a foundation for future generations. The idyllic setting and proximity to excellent schools make this an ideal choice for families looking to grow roots in a thriving community.”
Josh Schoemann, County Executive with Washington County, also notes, “We are excited about this collaborative project, which will provide young families and adults the opportunity to own a home. This public-private partnership ushers in an exciting new iteration of Next Generation Housing, forging a new path for private sector led solutions to crippling inflation. The work we are doing today with Regal Place should be a shining beacon to every freedom-loving person and community across America! It proves that we can still do big things and improve people’s lives if we simply work together and get government out of the way for the cause of liberty, founded in owning property.”
